Elias is a former NXT star who has been a revelation ever since he drifted his way over to Monday Night RAW. Although not many were hopeful of him achieving big things because of the supposed limitations his gimmick would have, he’s proven all of the doubters wrong.
Despite getting negative reactions every week, he’s been given plenty of airtime to play his guitar but still manages to back it up with his solid in-ring work.
WALK WITH ELIAS
Although you can probably count Samoa Joe’s injury to his success so far, it’s obvious that WWE officials are high on him, especially since he was given a spot in the Elimination Chamber while he also had an entertaining feud with Braun Strowman.
Since last week, it’s been speculated that The Drifter and The Monster Among Men might actually team up at WrestleMania to battle Sheamus and Cesaro of The Bar for the RAW tag team championships.
That’s because several outlets claimed that one plan WWE has in store is to have two singles stars - who aren’t yet a team - join forces to take on Sheamus and Cesaro. If we’re talking about odd teams, they don’t get stranger than Strowman and Elias.
However, a handicap match has also emerged as a genuine possibility. If that’s the case, it seems like Elias could have a quiet WrestleMania but based on his recent comments when he spoke to GuitarWorld.com, Elias revealed that WWE does have some big plans for him.
If you’re a fan of Elias’ work, then you’re in luck. He’s claimed that he and WWE are planning on recording and releasing some music down the line.
According to Wrestling News Source, Elias said: “Absolutely, I believe WWE - which, if you are not aware, stands for Walk with Elias - the company is taking notice of what I’m doing every week and there’s absolutely plans in the works to record music, release music, put it out there and give them the sound of Elias that they can take with them.
“They can have it on their phone, they can have it wherever on whatever music format they have.”
Obviously, this would be great for Elias and his character development. While it sounds like WWE doesn’t have any concrete WrestleMania plans for him, he did reveal that he could be performing inside of the Superdome next month.
He added: “Yes, it would be an injustice if Elias was at WrestleMania and not performing in front of millions of people around the world, nearly 70,000 in attendance, it would be an absolute injustice.
“I will be performing, it will be an amazing, memorable performance, unlike anything you’ve seen Elias do in the past.”
Even if he doesn’t have a match, having the opportunity to perform with all of the attention on him is going to be an amazing spectacle.
