Mark Henry was announced on Monday as the latest person to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame.

"The World's Strongest Man" will join the likes of Goldberg, The Dudley Boyz and Hillbilly Jim as a member of the class of 2018.

There's also something that makes him quite unique to the rest of those being inducted this year - as Henry is still under contract with the WWE.

However, he's not had a match on TV for over a year and last appeared in-ring on Raw in February 2017.

He has been more involved backstage as a producer - but now enters the Hall of Fame after a 21-year career that began in 1996.

Henry has been reminiscing about his very successful run with WWE and has also revealed what happened when Vince McMahon phoned him up for the first time ever.

And it was a pretty embarrassing moment for him.

"The first conversation I had (with McMahon), I thought it was one of my buddies playing a joke on me and I hung up on him," Henry told USA Today's "For The Win", per Wrestling Inc

"My manager at the time called me back and said 'hey, I just had Vince McMahon call you and he said you hung up!' And I was like 'that was Vince McMahon for real!?'

"I felt so dumb. Here he is, one of the most influential people in the wrestling industry calls you and you hang up on him thinking it was a joke."

Luckily for him, McMahon didn't take it personally and the pair were able to chat eventually, leading to Henry signing with WWE.

"I called back and I said 'hey, I hope you understand, I thought it was somebody playing a joke on me.'

"He said 'don't worry about it, I'm glad I could get you back on the phone.' He was like 'I want you to come to Connecticut and see how we do things up here.'"

And the rest is history. Henry became a dominant force in the wrestling business and was a one-time WWF European Champion and a two-time world champion.

He won the ECW Championship in 2008 and WWE's World Heavyweight Championship in 2011, making him a worthy inductee into the Hall of Fame.
