In his rookie season in the NBA, Ben Simmons has already proven that he is destined to become a superstar. The Philadelphia 76ers have a unique talent on their hands and can build for an exciting future with him.The young Aussie's talent was never in doubt but he's surprised many with how dominant and influential he's been on the court for the Sixers this year. He's looked like a seasoned veteran with the way he's performed and has notched multiple rookie milestones in the process. In a 108-94 win over the Charlotte Hornets on Monday night, the 22-year-old added another three to his collection.Simmons ended the game with an impressive stat line of 11 points, 12 rebounds and 15 assists. This was his third triple-double in four games, becoming the first rookie to achieve that since Hall of Famer Oscar Robertson did it in 1961, according to Elias Sports.

In another outstanding feat, he became just the third rookie to notch a triple-double with no turnovers, per Adam Fromal of NBA Math.

The only two players to have done that previously were David Robinson and Andre Iguodala.

Simmons is, however, the only player in NBA history to dish 15 assists in a triple-double without a single turnover.

“It means a lot,” Simmons said of his latest triple-double, per Olgun Uluc of Fox Sports. ”But it means more that we got the win, so I’m just happy we got the win.

“I think overall we played okay; it’s not our best game. But I think down the stretch, we really stuck together.”

But the accomplishments didn't end there for the Sixers star. To cap a truly historic night, he also set a 76ers franchise record.

His 10 dimes against the Hornets was his 19th 10-assist game of the season, surpassing Allen Iverson for the most by a rookie in the team's history, per ESPN Stats and Info.

The Philadelphia legend had 18 in the 1996-97 season and held the record for two decades.

It was fitting that A.I. was in the arena watching as Simmons claimed the historic mark.

The Hall of Famer recently posted a picture of the two of them on Instagram where he described the former number one overall pick as the "future" of the Sixers.

He's certainly going to a be a major star for Philly in the years to come but he's also making a huge impact today.

The LSU product is averaging 16.2 points, 7.9 assists and 7.8 rebounds per game in his first season in the league and is the leading candidate to win the Rookie of the Year award.

He has played a big role in the team's success this campaign where they're on the verge of making a return to the playoffs.

The 76ers are currently in sixth in the east with a 39-30 record but they still have their eyes set on securing home-court advantage for the postseason as they're only a game behind the Indiana Pacers.

With Simmons playing the way he is and Joel Embiid producing monster performances almost every night, the Sixers will not be an easy matchup for any team.
