Daniel Bryan posts emotional tweet after WWE clear him for return to the ring

Daniel Bryan has made an emotional return to WWE - and fans are overjoyed at the news.

WWE superstars reacted in their droves at the news with Shinsuke Nakamura even teasing the fans with an instant challenge. It seems everybody in the WWE universe is buzzing to have Bryan back after nearly three years of the ring.

The news broke on Tuesday night in a statement that confirmed Bryan had been looked over by doctors and adjudged to be fit for a return.

The statement read: "Following more than two years of extensive evaluations, WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan has been medically cleared to return to in-ring competition by leading neurosurgeons, neurologists and concussion experts, including Dr. Robert Cantu, Dr. Javier Cárdenas and Dr. Jeffrey Kutcher.

"Bryan underwent a full review of his medical history and received comprehensive neurological and physical evaluations independent of WWE. He was cleared by each doctor as well as WWE's Medical Director, Dr. Joseph Maroon."

Bryan cleared for a return to WWE

Bryan had been forced to retire in February 2016 in an emotional speech having failed to recover from a concussion he picked up in June 2015.

Nevertheless, the 36-year-old remained upbeat throughout this year that his retirement had been premature and that he may, one day, return.

And after the massive reaction the news received online, Bryan has posted a tweet of his own and it's pretty emotional.

To come back from an injury that looked have ruined his career in the WWE is a major achievement and fans are overjoyed to have him back.

It has the potential to establish a number of dream match-ups.

Speculation is already circling that Bryan will team up with Shane McMahon in a clash with Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania.

Whoever his faces, though, it's brilliant to have him back.
