Mohamed Salah's debut season with Liverpool will rightfully go down as one of the finest ever seen in the Premier League.

The Egyptian forward currently sits on 28 goals for the season in the league, just three shy of matching the all-time record of 31.

In reality, he's odds on to break that record with seven rounds of games remaining.

His four-goal haul at Watford on Saturday - including an assist for Roberto Firmino - was one of the great solo displays seen in England's top-flight, with Salah being mentioned by some in the same breath as Lionel Messi.

However, with such great form comes serious interest from Europe's elite, with Barcelona, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain all linked with making gigantic bids for the former Roma man in the summer.

Liverpool fans might be concerned that they have another Philippe Coutinho saga on their hands, but former Reds player Craig Bellamy has made a brilliant point about his future, one which others are ignoring right now.

“If I was Liverpool, I’d take it (interest in Salah) as a compliment,” he explained on Sky Sports’ The Debate show. “Why wouldn’t top clubs be interested?

“I’d be worried if they weren’t. But Real Madrid and Barcelona, who could be prepared to pay big money, will surely want to see another year from Salah.

"There are other players out there that have proved themselves over two or three years who might be closer to going to those types of clubs.

“Those types of clubs are the pinnacle of football - if they come in for you, you want to be a part of that.

“They are on another planet, but I don’t see it happening this summer.”

Bellamy even thinks that Salah will opt against the same path that Luis Suarez, Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano took and sign a new deal at Anfield.

"The way Liverpool play suits him, and he has a manager who makes sense to sign for in the Premier League," he continued.

"It is difficult because I don't run Liverpool Football Club and I am not involved in the finance, but I would offer him a new contract straight away.

"Make sure he is rewarded. Even though I imagine he is already on incredible wages I would bump that up even more just to make him even happier."
