Here's a fun fact for today: Adam Bogdan is still a Liverpool player somehow.

Most Kopites have completely forgotten about the Hungarian goalkeeper, who hasn't made a competitive appearance for Liverpool since the 2015/16 campaign.

He spent some of last season on loan at Wigan Athletic but in his 17th and final game for the Latics, he tore his ACL and returned to Anfield.

Since then, Bogdan has only featured for Liverpool's Under-23 side, with Simon Mignolet and Loris Karius the club's first-choice goalkeepers.

Bogdan's arrival from Bolton Wanderers on a free in 2015 is widely regarded as one of Liverpool's strangest transfer moves and if anything, he's one of their worst ever players.

He doesn't have a future with the Reds, that's for sure, and on Wednesday night he produced a howler during the Under-23s' 3-1 defeat to Middlesbrough in the Premier League Cup.

For Middlesbrough's second goal, Bogdan came out to collect a free-kick but couldn't keep hold of the ball, with Mitchell Curry finding the back of an empty net.

BOGDAN PLAYING WITH FIRE

It's hardly surprising the 30-year-old made a mistake for the Under-23s, though, given he also dropped a clanger on social media before the game.

A picture went up on Bogdan's Instagram story featuring a Manchester United flag with the caption: "Keep the red flags flying high, Man United will never die!"

It was quickly deleted but, as always, screenshots were taken by some angry Liverpool fans. Check it out below.

Looks like Bogdan has some explaining to do. For all we know one of his friends played a prank on him, but it doesn't look very good coming from a Liverpool goalkeeper's Instagram account.

Tough week for Adam, eh?
