The Miami Heat secured their third consecutive win on Wednesday night as they easily dispatched the New York Knicks 119-98.The victory sees them improve to 39-33 and solidify their position in seventh in the Eastern Conference, one-and-a-half games ahead of the Milwaukee Bucks who were beaten at home by the Los Angeles Clippers. As things stand, they'll be meeting the Boston Celtics in the first round of the playoffs and it would be an interesting matchup for Kelly Olynyk in particular. When he hit restricted free agency in the summer, the Celtics decided not to re-sign him to an extension as they'd acquired Gordon Hayward and Kyrie Irving. After hitting the open market, he was quickly snapped up by the Heat on a four-year, $50 million contract. He showed his old team what they were missing in December as he dropped a career-high 32 points on them in a win on the road for Miami.Aside from that huge game in Boston, Olynyk has had a steady season and hasn't really been pulling up any trees. But his recent performances have certainly caught people's attention. With Hassan Whiteside out with a hip injury, the Canadian has taken advantage of a bigger role as the team's center over the last few games and he's excelled. In a pulsating 149-141 double-overtime victory over the Denver Nuggets on Monday night, he became just the second player in Heat franchise history to post 30 points off the bench.Against the Knicks last night, he produced another brilliant display as he put up 22 points and added a career-high 10 assists. The best of his 10 dimes came via a beautiful nutmeg feed between the legs of Knicks big man Kyle O'Quinn to teammate Josh Richardson, giving him an uncontested dunk at the rim.

The 26-year-old is not known for his passing and playmaking abilities but he was confident enough to bring the ball up the ball up the floor and deliver this perfect dish.

In the last two games, Olynyk has scored 52 points, had 16 assists and grabbed 13 rebounds - leading to two wins.

"We're just real connected right now on both ends of the floor," Olynyk said, per ESPN. "Guys are playing well together."

The power forward is proving to be a Swiss Army Knife for the Heat as he's adding facilitating to his skill set to go along with his ability to space the floor and hit threes, rebound, defend and hustle.

After a solid college career, Olynyk hasn't really hit the heights in the NBA but he's now showing what he can do in South Beach and he still has his best years ahead of him.

With Miami's reputation for developing players, he's in the best environment to finally fulfil his potential and take his game to the next level.
