Cardiff manager Dave Jones has started his rebuilding process for another shot at promotion to the Premier League by releasing five senior players from his squad.

Jones, who saw his side lose 3-2 to Blackpool in the Championship play-off final on Saturday, has parted ways with number two goalkeeper Peter Enckelman, versatile Tony Capaldi, strikers Warren Feeney and Josh Magennis and defender Aaron Morris.

Midfielder Riccy Scimeca also officially leaves the club having retired from professional football due to injury during the recent league campaign.

Meanwhile, Jones will be hoping he can persuade out-of-contract midfielder Joe Ledley to pen a new deal with the club over the coming weeks as he considers his options, with the Bluebirds set for a compensation fee if the 23-year-old does decide to move on.

Defender Miguel Comminges, who has suffered with his fair share of injuries of late, has been handed a six-month deal, while youngsters Jonathan Meades and Jordan Santiago have both been offered professional contracts.
