Anthony Joshua seems extremely confident in his ability to retain his heavyweight throne against Joseph Parker later this month in Wales.

The action goes down when Joshua defends his IBF, IBO and WBA titles against Parker's WBO heavyweight crown. Joshua and Parker will throw hands on March 31st from the Principality Stadium in Cardiff, Wales which holds 78,000 fans.

Joshua believes that the hype surrounding his fight with Parker is going to bring out the best in his New Zealand counterpart.

He even went as far as to say that he thinks their fight could feature action the calibre of Riddick Bowe vs. Evander Holyfield 25 years ago (quotes via Boxing Scene):

“Let’s say, for instance, Parker’s Holyfield and I’m Riddick Bowe, the taller, rangier fighter,” Joshua told Sky Sports as part of an interview that appeared on the network’s website Wednesday.

“Those two, when they fought, they had speed, combinations on the inside, and hopefully we can fulfill what the greats have done before us.”

Bowe wound up winning that fight via unanimous decision after 12 rounds to capture the IBF, WBA and WBC championships.

It was the first of an epic three fight trilogy, however, their first in 1992 won The Ring magazine’s “Fight of the Year."

Joshua said that he can't tell fans exactly how the fight is going to go, however, he can be sure of one thing - there will definitely be blood:

“I can’t tell you exactly how the fight will go, but we’re big, we’re strong and the punches do hurt after a while,” Joshua said.

“I definitely know there’ll be blood. There will definitely be blood, and the thing is – you can definitely hear the leather cracking on people’s heads if you’re close enough as well, and we’re both fast.

"You’ll see really good combinations that you don’t really see from heavyweights.”

The fight between Joshua and Parker is being even more anticipated for what's expected to go down after the right. Deontay Wilder will be at ringside and plans to confront the winner of the fight - who he hopes will be Joshua.

UFC President Dana White will also be in attendance and is expected to meet with Joshua after the fight, where he will reportedly offer him a half a billion dollar contract to sign with Zuffa boxing.
