Boxing fans are hotly anticipating the return of lineal heavyweight champion Tyson Fury in 2018.The 'Gypsy King' has flirted with a comeback ever since his victory over Wladimir Klitschko in November 2015 but it seems he's not kidding this time.Fury has resolved his disagreements with UKAD and wait has flown off in six months of intensive training. Will Fury be the same fighter he was back in 2015, though? Fury has his eyes set on recouping the belts he was eventually stripped of but hasn't fought in nearly three years.

Tyson Fury remains illusive on comeback fights

Furthermore, Eddie Hearn leaked information from his talks with the 29-year-old that suggests he intends to fight opponents so weak in 2018 that he simply doesn't want to promote them.

It looks like boxing fans will have to wait until next year before Fury exchanges leather with some of the finest fighter in the division, never mind Anthony Joshua.

That hasn't stopped the 'Gypsy King' from talking up the fight that everybody wants to see and he has none other than Deontay Wilder, with whom he still has beef, in his sights also.

Fury drops major tweet about Wilder and Joshua

Moreover, Fury continued to fan hype around those fights with a defiant tweet in the dying hours of Thursday.

He declared that he is the only man capable of dethroning the division's top two fighters, before reiterating his impending return. Check it out below:

Unsurprisingly, it received a massive reaction from boxing fans yet they weren't all favourable for Fury.

Many lamented that Fury was talking about Wilder and Joshua and not the comeback fights he continued to tease.

Boxing fans don't react well

Meanwhile, some simply didn't believe that the 29-year-old will pose a threat to the top fighters for sometime now. Take a look at the reaction:

Boxing fans are itching for Fury to return to the ring and with each week that goes without an announcement, the more people will grow tired with his superlative tweets.

There's every reason to suggest a fully fit Fury would be able to hoover up the belts again but until we see him fight again, fans won't know whether he's lost a step since 2015.

He's certainly set the bar high for himself, that's for sure.
