It's been nearly a year since Matt Hardy returned to the WWE with his brother Jeff in tow and on this past episode of Monday Night Raw we finally got to see an Ultimate Deletion match in the WWE.

'Woken' Matt Hardy originally returned as a just plain ol' Matt Hardy with some 'Broken' tendencies and won the tag titles with his brother on the first night back at WrestleMania 33.

However, after a legal dispute with TNA was resolved, WWE fans were invited into his 'Woken' universe with Senor Benjamin, King Maxel, Vanguard 1 and many more.

His only feud so far as the character has been a long, drawn-out battle with Bray Wyatt that has failed to really get the WWE Universe's pulse racing.

However, fans suddenly began to get interested again when it was announced the pair would battle in an Ultimate Deletion match at the Hardy Compound.

Part of the excitement was down to the fact that Wyatt might finally be repackaged as part of the angle in the same way Jeff Hardy became Brother Nero in TNA.

At a live event in Toronto on Friday, Hardy and Wyatt had a segment once again and it was the latter's first appearance since falling into the Lake of Reincarnation.

Check out the video below:

You'll notice that Hardy was chanting "change" at Wyatt at one point, indicating the leader of the Wyatt Family - whoever that actually entails these days - is set to undergo a change he badly needs.

In the video, Wyatt appears to be in the same kind of attire he has always donned, but his mannerisms seem a bit submissive and a team with Hardy could well be on the cards.

In truth, Wyatt has been woefully mistreated since his WWE title run this time last year.

He has been stuck in feuds with top-tier talents like Randy Orton, Seth Rollins and Finn Balor - where he nearly exposed himself as Sister Abigail - and came out on the losing side of all of them.

He has nearly lost all credibility with the fans and a reboot is dearly needed. But, there is no denying how talented Wyatt is, he just needs the WWE to get behind him and stay behind him.
