Johnny Manziel was once tipped to be the NFL's next great quarterback.

He came out of Texas A&M with a huge buzz around his talents - and was picked as the 22nd overall pick in the 2014 draft.

However, things didn't exactly go to plan for "Johnny Football" when he was drafted to the Cleveland Browns.

Despite impressing in pre-season training, Brian Hoyer was announced as the starting QB in week one of the regular season.

It wasn't until the end of November that Manziel entered a game for the Browns - as he came on in the fourth quarter after a poor performance from Hoyer.

In a fairly impressive display, the rookie came on and scored a rushing touchdown as the Browns lost 26-10 to the Buffalo Bills.

Despite fairing well on the pitch, Manziel's off-field antics have always held him back.

He spent two seasons with Cleveland before being released at the end of the 2016 season, after playing only 15 games for the team.

After a year away from football, Manziel has made it clear that he wants to start playing football again and he's targetting an NFL return.

He's recently been throwing in-front of 13 team scouts at San Diego's pro day - desperately trying to convince potential employers that's he's a changed man - and someone worth taking a chance on.

But with the 2018 draft coming up soon, Manziel may have to fall to the back of the line, behind a number of quarterback prospects.

This year, up to six QB's could be drafted in the first round - with so many teams in need of a signal-caller, making it one of the most exciting drafts in recent years.

And the draft process is all too familiar for Manziel, who was going through the same situation four years ago.

Ahead of April's 2018 edition, the former Browns quarterback has been giving all of the draft prospects some advice.

"I would say enjoy the process, because, you know, right now it’s still, you have a little bit of free time," he said at San Diego's pro day, per For The Win.

"This is the part where — they’re all done with their pro days, so… You can’t stress about the draft. I stressed about it too much, and I think it made my time a little bit uneasy."

He also picked out Sam Darnold as one of the most impressive prospects but said he's pulling for everyone on the board.

"I wish them all the best. I thought Sam’s pro day was great yesterday, just from what I’ve seen so far.

"I’m pulling for those guys. Enjoy the time now because whenever you get to the league and it starts, it really starts and things are a little bit different."
