A pair of pit-stop problems for the Haas team has just gifted Sebastian Vettel the lead at the Australian GP.

The American team was having a storming first race of the season in Melbourne running fourth and sixth between the Red Bulls but saw it all go wrong over just two laps.

Swapping tyres, both Kevin Magnussen and Romain Grosjean left with wheels not properly attached forcing both to pull over to the side of the track.

It was a massive blow for the surprise performers during the first Formula 1 weekend and a huge relief for Red Bull who had seen their race ruined after Max Verstappen fell behind Magnussen at the start.

The impact on the race has been huge, however, as the recovery of the second Haas of Grosjean required a Virtual Safety Car and Sebastian Vettel has just taken advantage.

Pitting last of the three leaders, the German emerged ahead of Lewis Hamilton who had been leading comfortably before the race turned on its head.

The Mercedes driver was furious over the radio when the Ferrari emerged ahead but it has guaranteed a massive battle to the end of the race!
