Jurgen Klopp clearly wants Emre Can to stay at Liverpool, but the former Leverkusen man continues to stall on signing a new contract with the club.The German has just three months remaining on his current contract, and Liverpool fans are beginning to give up hope that he will extend his display.Can is becoming increasingly unpopular with Liverpool fans as a result, and comments about his future last week only intensified that feeling."I have the self-confidence to say that my qualities are sufficient to play in a very big club next season," he told German newspaper Suddeutsche Zeitung, per the Liverpool Echo."I’m doing great in England. The Spanish league is also attractive. The same applies to Germany, where tactics are concerned, and the Italian club football, which has recently caught up."Incidentally, the same applies to France, this league has now established itself as one of the best in Europe. Therefore, I do not want to exclude anything because I do not know what I will do from the summer."

CAN'S LATEST DEMAND

Although many are convinced Can will depart from Merseyside, according to reports, the German he will stay on one condition.

The Mirror claim that Can will stay at the club if Liverpool want to make him their highest paid player. 

That means that the German is looking at a £200,000-a-week deal, and if offered, he would happily sign.

However, Liverpool owners are unlikely to match Can's demands, although they are still trying to negotiate a way for the German to extend his stay at Anfield.

But, if Liverpool are unwilling to meet Can's wishes, it seems all but certain that he will leave the club in the summer.

LIVERPOOL FANS REACT

The majority of Liverpool fans have previously wanted Can to stay.

But, after Can's latest demands have been revealed, a number of the clubs fans have taken to Twitter to express their feelings.

Whilst recognising that Can is a good player, many believe that he is simply not worth that extraordinary amount of money, whilst others point to the negative impact it could have on the rest of the squad.
