There has been quite the talk of Hulk Hogan returning to the WWE as of late.

There’s no doubt that one of the biggest names that WWE and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon ever created was Hogan. He has been a household name in the world of professional wrestling for decades now.

He has wrestled some of the biggest names in the history of pro wrestling, and although he has a long lasting relationship with the company, there have been some hiccups between the two sides throughout the years.

Most notably he left the sports entertainment company to join World Championship Wrestling in the 1990’s, and he worked in TNA Wrestling for a few years.

His latest run with the company was a short one. On February 24, 2014, on Raw, Hogan made his first WWE in-ring appearance since December 2007 to hype the launch of the WWE Network.

At WrestleMania XXX in March, Hogan served as the host and came out at the start of the show to hype up the crowd. Steve Austin and The Rock ended up coming out to have a memorable segment with him.

Hogan picked up mainstream popularity between the mid-1980s and early 1990s in the WWE. He would join World Championship Wrestling in the 1990s where he often performed as a heel as the New World Order (nWo) leader.

Hogan headlined the premier annual events of the WWE and WCW, WrestleMania and Starrcade, multiple times. He has also worked for other promotions such as American Wrestling Association, New Japan Pro Wrestling and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling.

During his professional wrestling career, he is a twelve-time world champion: a six-time WWE World Heavyweight Champion/WWE Champion and a six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion.

He was the first wrestler to win consecutive Royal Rumbles, in 1990 and 1991 respectively. Hogan was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2005.

It’s well documented that WWE officials are currently having talks about a Hogan return, according to a report by PWInsider. Discussions for the return began several weeks back. WWE event came out and confirmed it.

Future WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry spoke on Busted Open Radio this past week about Hogan potentially returning to the company. Here is what he said (transcript courtesy of Cageside Seats):

”There are leaked videos of the Andre story on HBO coming up, on the 29th is the opening in Los Angeles, and he’s in it. It’s kind of a deal where you have to accept it.

He’s a public figure. It doesn’t mean that everything that he’s done is forgiven, you just gotta take the good with the bad and see how you could help the situation. I’m sitting on the chair of the delegation and they’re not ready. I’ve had many talks, with dozens of guys, and the consensus is there’s a lot of work to be done to heal that wound and to fix that wall.”

”The delegation is pretty much all of the more established African-American wrestlers in the country and in the world, for that matter. Every promotion… there’s not a wrestling promotion that doesn’t house someone from the delegation.”

”There’s gonna have to be more community service and outside work. Support for programs and even creative programs that deal with diversity in the workplace. … I don’t process everything like everybody else. I believe that everybody should be given a second chance but I also believe that you have to own your issue, whatever that issue is. You gotta try to make closure on everybody else’s behalf, not just yours.”
