It's always been Usain Bolt's dream to play professional football after hanging up his running spikes, but it would seem now is not the right time for him to make the jump.

Bolt, 31, went on trial with Borussia Dortmund last Friday and while he scored a few goals during the public training session, he wasn't quite up to scratch.

According to Dortmund's manager, Peter Stoger, the Jamaican has a lot of work to do if he wants to play in one of Europe's top five leagues.

"It's all about procedure and movement, but the most important thing is that he had fun," said Stoger. "I think he is talented.

"But when he wants to play at a higher level, he clearly has a lot of work to do. The physique he needs for his other sport is completely different from what he needs for football.

"It was really fun for us. It was a pleasure for us to meet a guy like him and to work with him."

Bolt's dream will have to wait, then, but he can at least take positivity from what some of Dortmund's players said about his performance in training.

Marco Reus, for example, said: "It was great to have Usain join us for training. It was like having a new teammate.

"I watched him in his training sessions and I think he has some real football skills. I can't wait to see what he does next."

And now January signing Michy Batshuayi has given his honest opinion on Bolt's footballing ability after watching videos of last Friday's trial.

The Belgian was impressed by Bolt's nutmeg and goal and joked that he could lose his place to the 100m world record holder.

"I watched the videos," said the Chelsea loanee. "He did nutmegs and scored a good goal. He's a champion. He pushes himself beyond his limits every day.

"He wants to beat all the records. He's trying to establish himself in another sport, that's classy, I'm happy for him. But I hope he doesn't come and take my place.

"It's a bit of a shame to have missed [Bolt's trial]. I hope he'll still be there when I get back and we can exchange a few passes."

Don't worry, Michy, you've got nothing to worry about.
