Just because the cameras stop rolling on Monday Night RAW or SmackDown LIVE, it doesn’t mean the action inside of the ring is going to come to a halt.

It’s become an increasing trend in WWE to keep the fans in their seats by providing them with quality entertainment that only those in attendance can view. That’s unless some fans decide to whip out their cell phones and begin recording the action for the rest of the WWE Universe to enjoy - which is usually the case.

DARK SEGMENT

We have the usual culprits who are featured regularly in the post-show antics, such as Kevin Owens and even Brock Lesnar on the occasions he does appear. Somebody like Owens is there to provide the typical heel humour which fans can’t help but enjoy, while a star like The Beast Incarnate will be there to send the fans home happy after watching him be his destructive self.

This week after SmackDown, though, fans were treated to something bizarre, but equally brilliant.

AJ Styles was involved in six-man tag team action heading into his WrestleMania 34 clash against Shinsuke Nakamura where he defends his WWE Championship. The Phenomenal One was teaming up with SmackDown tag team championships, The Usos, who now have their own WrestleMania match against the New Day and the Bludgeon Brothers.

They were going up against Baron Corbin, Rusev and Aiden English but it was the referee who stole the show, despite the popularity of several stars that were included in the bout.

SUPERKICK

The first strange moment - which wasn’t caught on camera - was that he hit English with a Superkick.

As you’ll be able to see in the tweet, the referee stood alongside The Usos as they stood opposite Rusev, English and The Lone Wolf. After getting the green light from the raucous Pittsburgh crowd with the ‘YES!’ chants, the referee joined The Usos in landing Superkicks on the opponents, with the referee connecting flush on Rusev.

Twitter user @BillKauff, who captured the footage, also shared what happened moments before the referee hitting the Superkick to the crowd’s delight.

There was a brilliant Superkick party in the middle of the ring as The Usos continued to repeatedly connect with Superkicks on Rusev, English and Corbin. The referee then took his shirt off and got involved, leaving Styles to switch roles with him and make the questionable three count to win the match.
