Manchester City and Chelsea are interested in signing Inter Milan right-back Maicon, according to the player’s agent.

The Brazilian was part of the Nerazzuri’s treble-winning team last season under the guidance of Jose Mourinho and could become one of the most sought-after players at this year’s World Cup.

Mourinho has since left the San Siro to take up the Real Madrid hot seat and Maicon has been heavily tipped to join his former coach after revealing the former Blues boss said goodbye to everyone except him after their Champions League triumph.

Maicon’s agent, Antonio Caliendo, has claimed that there are a host of other sides interested and went as far as to say his client is top of Roberto Mancini’s wish list.

Caliendo told “The situation is very clear – in life, everything is bought and sold, except love.

“His future is being decided in the coming days. Have Chelsea revived their interest? As I’ve always said, there isn’t only Real Madrid interested in Maicon.

“I don’t neglect Manchester City either. Roberto Mancini has coached him and Maicon is the first name on the pad of the former Inter coach,” he added.

City are reportedly looking to sign a world-class right-back; just last week midfielder Nigel de Jong urged Mancini to sign his Holland international team mate Gregory van der Wiel.
