Last week, Daniel Bryan announced that after being retired for two years, he had been cleared by the WWE to compete in the ring once more. This week, he announced that his first match back as a competitor would be tag teaming with Shane McMahon against Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn at WrestleMania 34.

Beyond this year's Showcase of the Immortals, however, not much has been said about Bryan's booking future in the WWE, or if he will be signing a new deal to stay with the company once his current contract expires at some point in September.

The only thing that has been discussed is possibly finding someone else to replace him as SmackDown general manager so that he can wrestle more before he potentially departs the company. Fans will be hoping several dream matches for Bryan take place now he can wrestle again as well.

One of those dream matches is Bryan vs AJ Styles. They have wrestled against each other several times before on the independent circuit, but never in the WWE. Their last match against one another was at a Ring of Honor event back in January 2006.

The Phenomenal One was asked about having a dream match against The King of Beards during a recent interview with Sports Illustrated.

Styles said: “Shoot, now that he’s cleared, who knows when Daniel Bryan and I will have the opportunity to get in the ring together? But who knows when I’ll get in the ring with Seth Rollins, or again with Finn Balor, or even Randy Orton?

"There are guys I have yet to get in the ring with, but now that Daniel Bryan is cleared and ready, he’s in line. Who knows what’s going to come first? There are a lot of great things that will happen in the next couple years.”

Bryan vs Styles would be a great match to see in the WWE, but a match of that magnitude would likely be saved by the company until a bigger pay-per-view event, such as SummerSlam.

It's bound to be a fantastic match filled with great technical ability, so hopefully, WWE makes it happen before the day arrives that Bryan decides to leave the company.
