The marquee members of the 2018 Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame class have been released, per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN.Three of the most iconic playmakers from the late nineties through the noughties will be enshrined in basketball folklore forever; Former two-time MVP PG Steve Nash, seven-time All Star forward Grant Hill, and six-time All NBA PG Jason Kidd. Not a bad trio!

Also joining the trio is former sixers guard, and current OKC assistant, 'Mo' Cheeks. The full list of inductees will be released Saturday.

All three former All-Stars are now first ballot Hall of Famers after the December change in policy that altered the time frame from retirement to Hall of Fame eligibility to three years, from five.

This allowed Nash, who hung up his boots in 2015, to join Kidd and Hill who each retired in 2015 in the 2018 class.

Nash, one of only 13 players in NBA history to win two MVP awards, thrilled on the court in his 18 seasons as a pro with the Suns, Mavs and Lakers. His scintillating playmaking ability, and extraordinary vision saw him make eight All Star appearances and gain seven All NBA team selections.

He ranks third all time in assists, and led the league in dimes six times. The South African born PG is also one of only seven members of the exclusive 50-40-90 club, for which you gain entry by shooting at least 50% for field goals, 40% for three-pointers, and 90% for free throws during an entire NBA regular season.

Nash achieved the illusive feat an incredible four times during his career. Larry Bird (twice) is the only other player to post multiple 50-40-90 seasons.

Jason Kidd is undoubtedly one of the greatest passers in the history of the game, and controlled the game from the point guard position in mercurial fashion over his 19 year career.

The 10-time all star ranks third in NBA history with 107 triple-doubles, made nine All-Defensive Team appearances and won a championship with the 2010-11 Dallas Mavericks.

He ranks second all time in assists and steals and later transitioned into coaching with the Nets and most recently, the Bucks.

Hill was a college superstar with Duke, and was marked for greatness from the moment he entered the league. Over 19 seasons with the Pistons, Suns, Magic and Clippers, he averaged 16.7 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.1 assists per game.

The 1995 NBA rookie of the year made seven All Star teams and earned one All NBA first team selection despite a career ravaged with injuries.

Nash, Hill, Kidd, Cheeks, and the rest of the 2018 class will be officially announced on Saturday prior to the NCAA Men’s Championship game in San Antonio, and will be enshrined in Springfield, MA in September.
