Jose Mourinho has a growing reputation for getting rid of players that go on to prove him wrong.Kevin de Bruyne and Mohamed Salah have well and truly proved the Portuguese boss wrong this season, while Romelu Lukaku also transferred for £75 million last summer - and is now a key man in Mourinho’s Manchester United side. And another player he sold at Chelsea who now finds himself playing under Mourinho at Old Trafford is Juan Mata.Mata was ditched by ‘The Special One’ at Stamford Bridge during the 2013/14 season and was allowed to join the Red Devils in January of that campaign. It was believed that Mata and Mourinho's relationship deteriorated during the final few months in west London with the Spaniard being limited to substitute appearances. But Chelsea fans didn’t particularly agree with Mourinho’s decision to allow Mata to join a Premier League rival - especially after he had won the club’s Player of the Year award in the previous two campaigns. In fact, during the 2012/13 season, Mata was simply brilliant.

MATA WAS BRILLIANT DURING THE 2012/13 SEASON

Chelsea may have only finished third in the league but they turned the season into a success by winning the Europa League.

And Mata played a pivotal role.

He made 64 appearances in all competitions, scoring 20 goals and providing a crazy 35 assists.

Incredible.

And Chelsea fans are in a nostalgic mood, it seems.

That’s because a compilation video of Mata during that 12/13 season is going viral. Twitter user @afchoncho has compiled loads of clips of Mata causing havoc during that campaign - and it’s brilliant.

And the reaction from Chelsea fans? Well, they want Mata back.

The 29-year-old appears to have won Mourinho round at the second time of asking and has played 35 times this season for United.

And Mourinho has even triggered his contract extension which will keep Mata at the club until the summer of 2019.

And after Mata put pen to paper earlier this year, Mourinho explained how the midfielder is an important player for the club.

"Mata is very important. He is another one, big story when I arrived one and a half years ago - 'Mata in trouble, in trouble, in trouble,'" Mourinho said.

"Now he's getting an extension of one more year. (He is) an important player for me, an important player for the club, an important player for the other players."
