Giannis Antetokounmpo has taken his game to another level this year and is enjoying a remarkable season with the Milwaukee Bucks. The Greek Freak has established himself as one of the best players in the NBA and is a dominant force every night he steps out on the court. The 23-year-old made a blistering start to the campaign as he came out of the blocks in the first 10 games in explosive fashion. He was on a tear and was installed as the MVP favourite after averaging roughly 32 points, 10 rebounds and five assists while shooting 60 percent from the field.Antetokounmpo was stuffing the stat sheet every night and producing highlight plays on a regular basis.Although he's cooled off from that level of production, Giannis has still been consistently great all year and underlined this with a stunning display to lead the Bucks to a 116-107 win over the Golden State Warriors on Thursday night with 32 points on 14-of-18 shooting.

But in recent months, the likes of James Harden, LeBron James and Anthony Davis have seemingly overtaken him in the MVP ladder.

The two-time All-Star, however, doesn't believe anything's changed from the start of the season.

"I still am," Antetokounmpo told Bleacher Report when asked if he is still the MVP favourite.

"I'm one of the best players in the league. We're going to the playoffs. I'm still in the discussion. I might not be the favorite anymore, but I'm still in the discussion. That's how I feel."

Teammate Jabari Parker certainly believes he deserves to be crowned as the NBA's best player and is grateful to have him on his side.

"He's the MVP in all our books. He's a great teammate, and we love what he does for us," he said.

At this stage, Harden is the overwhelming favourite with the Houston Rockets clinching the number one seed in the Western Conference and owning the best record in the league.

Antetokounmpo may not claim the top individual honour this year, but there's no doubt that he's destined to win it at some point in his career.

For the season, he's averaging 27.3 points, 10.0 rebounds, 4.8 assists and 1.5 blocks per game.

The Milwaukee superstar played his part in a thrilling 124-122 overtime victory over the Los Angeles Lakers on Friday night on the second night of a back-to-back.

He didn't shoot the ball particularly well - going 8-of-20 - but he still put up a double-double of 27 points and 16 rebounds.

The Wisconsin-based outfit remains in eighth in the east but is now tied with the Miami Heat with a 41-35 record with just six games to go.
