The Houston Rockets have had their best season in franchise history and capped it off by clinching the number one seed in the Western Conference for the first time. They have already secured their highest wins total, topping the 60-win mark. This allowed head coach Mike D'Antoni to rest some of his star players in a home clash with the Phoenix Suns on Friday night.Chris Paul, Eric Gordon and Nene were all given the night off and this gave the visitors a chance to pull off an upset. With just 1.4 seconds remaining, it looked like Phoenix were going to do exactly that as they surprisingly held a 103-101 lead. But Gerald Green had other ideas. The veteran collected an inbounds pass in the right corner and secured a 104-103 victory for the Rockets with an incredible game-winning three-pointer at the buzzer that sent the crowd inside the Toyota Center into raptures.

Green is a Houston native and said that made the moment even more special.

"I think what makes it more fun is I'm from here," said Green, per ESPN. "Never really got a chance to do that in front of my mom and my dad before so I think that was more special to me."

The 32-year-old - who joined Houston in December - capped off a 21-point comeback for the Rockets to avoid an embarrassing home loss.

The shooting guard has proven to be a valuable addition to the roster and was mobbed by his teammates after drilling the game-winner.

"That right there I just felt like a kid again," he said. "One of those moments you dream about when you were little."

This was their 11th consecutive win and extended the Suns' losing run to 14 games.

Having accomplished their biggest goal of the season, the Texas-based franchise can't be blamed for taking things easy and not playing at full tilt.

They trailed by 17 at half-time but picked it up in the second half and got the W.

"I feel like I really didn't get a rhythm, we didn't have a rhythm and they were playing much harder than us," said Harden, who finished the game with 28 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds.

"So we just had to pick our intensity up defensively and then we finally got some shots to fall."

Houston improves to 62-14 in the west and now have just six games remaining to close out the campaign.
