We are just over a week away from WrestleMania 34.

WrestleMania 34 is set to be held on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Mercedes-Benz Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

This event airs on pay-per-view (PPV) and WWE Network. It’s the most successful and longest-running professional wrestling event in history. Both Raw and SmackDown rosters will be featured.

With the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company right around the corner, we thought it would be a great time to look back on some of the best first-time WrestleMania matches involving some of the biggest names in the history of the WWE.

Coming in at #5 is The Shield at WrestleMania 29.

The Shield got over big time with the fans, which is something that a group had not done in years. Stables will be created from time to time but not have the success that acts like The Four Horsemen, DX, NWO and other classic groups had.

The Shield, who featured Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, and Roman Reigns, was a different kind of stable that was created with NXT Superstars. The group teamed together until June 2014, after which Reigns entered singles competition. Ever since the group split up, fans have turned on Reigns despite him being portrayed as a babyface.

At this event, The Shield beat Randy Orton, Big Show, and Sheamus in a Six-Man Tag Team Match.

Coming in at #4 is Ric Flair at WrestleMania 8.

Flair is the biggest star that has ever been created within the professional wrestling business. The 68-year-old has a legacy over a career that spans 40 years. He is noted for his tenure with the NWA, WCW, WWE and TNA. He is a 16-time world champion (eight-time NWA World Heavyweight Champion, six-time WCW World Heavyweight Champion, and two-time WWF Champion). Keep in mind that the actual number of his world championship reigns varies by source, ranging from 16 to 25.

Flair lost to WWE Legend Randy Savage for the WWE Title at this event.

Coming in at #3 is Kurt Angle at WrestleMania 2000.

Angle made his first appearance at a professional wrestling event in 1996 with his in-ring debut following in 1998. He signed a contract with the WWE that same year and participated in his first televised storyline in March 1999. Angle was a six-time world champion (four reigns as WWF/WWE Champion, one as WCW Champion and one as WWE's World Heavyweight Champion), a one-time United States Champion, one-time Intercontinental Champion.

Angle lost to Chris Benoit and Chris Jericho at the event in a two-fall Triple threat match for the WWF Intercontinental and European Championships

Coming in at #2 is Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 19.

The current Universal Champion beat Kurt Angle to win the WWE Title in the main event.

Coming in at #1 is The Hardy Boyz at WrestleMania 2000.

The brothers lost to Edge & Christian and The Dudley Boyz at this event in a triangle ladder match for the WWE Tag Team Championship.
