It was a very interesting night in Cardiff rather than a hugely exciting one.Boxing fans were eager to see what Anthony Joshua would bring to the table in the toughest fight of his young career and what he brought was kind of a surprise.Instead of his usual fireworks and keenness to knock his opponent out, Joshua adopted a more defensive, scientific style to overcome a quick and tricky opponent.AJ eventually emerged from the 12 rounds as the unanimous victor, earning him Jospeh Parker's WBO strap and taking one huge step to unifying the heavyweight division. In truth, it was quite a dominant performance from the Watford-born fighter, with Parker winning little more than two or three rounds throughout the course of the fight. He wasn't particularly hurt by AJ, but he couldn't really get anywhere near him. Although, the referee played a pretty significant role in halting any progress made by Parker.Due to the nature of the win, the debate opened up between boxing fans as to whether Joshua is the real deal.Seems strange, we know. However, one man who was not buying into any of that was Tony Bellew, who was on the Sky Sports Box Office panel in Cardiff. The Bomber - who will fight David Haye on May 5 - sent out a very powerful tweet early Sunday morning, reminding boxing fans of Joshua's enormous achievements and stating exactly what he is; the best thing to happen to British boxing.

A classy message that every British boxing fan should take on board.

Bellew also spoke to iFL TV after the fight and raised some more interesting points about Joshua.

Speaking on Joshua's performance, Bellew said: "It reminded me of Lennox [Lewis], the way he used to defuse fighters and use his advantages to his advantage.

"So Anthony is the bigger man, the stronger man, longer reach and he used it to his advantage. This is not called fighting, it's called boxing for a reason and tonight he went out there and he displayed boxing ability.

Bellew then went on to discuss Joshua's presence on the sport right now.

"He's the flag for British boxing, he really is and I'm happy and lucky to be a part of it while he's here.

"What made me happy is, coming out and saying that British boxing happens here, boxing, world boxing revolves around us, we don't need to go to America, what can America give us that we can't?

"America doesn't do 80,000-seater stadiums, America doesn't do pay-per-view numbers like Joshua because their cash-cow, Floyd Mayweather, is now gone."
