With only one week remaining until the highly anticipated WrestleMania 34 event, there’s one burning question the WWE Universe is asking and can only be answered on the night itself.

Which match will be the main event of the evening?

MAIN EVENT

Luckily for fans, they’re going to be witnessing an epic event because of the stacked card the WWE has put together with stars featuring from top to bottom in New Orleans. Due to this, there are several matches which could rightfully go on last inside of the Superdome with AJ Styles vs. Shinsuke Nakamura being perhaps the most popular choice.

Arguably, this should be the rightful main event based on previous tradition, where the winner of the Royal Rumble not only earns a guaranteed title match at WrestleMania, but also secures the main event spot. That hasn’t happened in recent years, as that spot is now usually given to the Monday Night RAW brand - so the expectation is that Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns will be closing out the show next Sunday.

Then, there’s the exciting SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Asuka, the debut of Ronda Rousey in a star-studded match along with The Undertaker vs. John Cena, which should be announced on RAW next week.

With so many incredible options, it wouldn’t be a surprise to see Lesnar vs. Reigns fall down the ladder from fans’ perspective. However, Paul Heyman was recently speaking to Digital Spy, claiming that there is more interest in The Beast Incarnate vs. The Big Dog than there is in Styles vs. Nakamura, or even Cena vs. The Deadman - something not many fans will agree with.

When explaining why Lesnar vs. Reigns deserves to headline over The Phenomenal One vs. The King of Strong Style, he said: “Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns is the main event of this year’s WrestleMania because there’s more interest in this match than there is in any other. Period. Exclamation point. That’s the match that sells this show.

INTEREST

“All these other matches are very intriguing. Each one of them is worthy of insight and preview and speculation. But only one can be the true main event. Only one can be the match that’s listed in the history books as: This was the most important. This drew the attention, this is what we banked on. And on Sunday, April 8, 2018, WrestleMania 34 we are banking on Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns in the main event.

“That’s no disrespect to anyone else who plays a vital role on this show. It really isn’t. AJ Styles versus Nakamura is a fascinating match-up, but reality is, it holds only about 1-10th of the interest Brock vs. Roman does.

“Ronda Rousey in her debut teaming up with fellow Olympian Kurt Angle against the First Couple of the WWE, Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. Fascinating match-up on so many levels. John Cena having called out The Undertaker is of a historic nature that can’t be oversold. And again, what a fantastic thing to speculate about.

“But there’s only one true main event. And that main event happens to be Brock Lesnar versus Roman Reigns. If someone else in this time period before WrestleMania can create such interest in the show’s fortune rides on them, then they will replace Roman Reigns and Brock Lesnar in the main event of WrestleMania.

“But until that happens, I think we have enough on our side of the argument to continue to public interest and the public intrigue in this match.”

Although fans are usually agreeing with Heyman, that might not be the case here; that's how strongly the majority feel about the WrestleMania 31 rematch closing out the show yet again.
