John Wall had his first game back for the Washington Wizards in more than eight weeks on Saturday against the Charlotte Hornets, and it's fair to say that he did not disappoint in getting back into the flow of things on the court.

The Wizards defeated the Hornets 107-93 at the Capital One Arena in Washington yesterday, with Wall finishing his first game back with 15 points, three rebounds, and 14 assists. He also had a steal to his name, and he was 6-of-17 when shooting from the field after 33 minutes.

Wizards head coach Scott Brooks was very happy to have his star point guard back in his lineup, as he described him as being like a 'Ferrari'.

Brooks said about Wall to ESPN: "That Ferrari is pretty good. He got a lot of open shots for a lot of players. That's what he does at the highest level in the league."

The five-time All-Star was pretty pleased with his performance as well, his first game for the Wizards since January 25. He suffered an injury to his left knee on that day and had surgery six days later. He had averaged 19.4 points and 9.3 assists in 37 games before his injury.

He said to Candace Buckner of the Washington Post: “I just wanted to come back and play as well as I could.

"I haven’t played in two months, try not to force the issue, just play my game and take shots that I always had but also keep those guys in a great rhythm because they’ve been playing well, or make their job a lot easier so they don’t have to waste so much energy.”

When Wall was asked if he was nervous before his first game in more than eight weeks for the Wizards, he replied: “Nah, I’ve been doing this for too long.”

Wall will most likely be hoping he can start for the Wizards in their next game against the Chicago Bulls later today, and get some more good performances behind him before the playoffs arrive in two weeks time.
