The heavyweight division truly is quite enthralling at the moment.

Anthony Joshua claimed his fourth world title last night, adding Joseph Parker's WBO belt to the WBA, IBF and IBO belts he already held, with an easy unanimous decision victory over the Kiwi in Cardiff.

It is some achievement considering he's only had 21 professional fights, and there's every chance that he could continue to dominate the division for some time.

Only Deontay Wilder, the WBC title holder, is left standing in the way of 'AJ' becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion.

That is the fight that everyone wants to see, and it is hoped that it will be scheduled some time this year, though they could both have mandatory challengers before that.

Joshua could fight Alexander Povetkin, who brutally knocked out David Price last night, while Wilder may have to face Dillian Whyte.

Whyte recorded his own chilling knock out against Lucas Browne last weekend, and very firmly believes that he will in fact claim that WBC belt.

And he's already had some strong words for his potential opponent, after the 'Bronze Bomber' made the news for all the wrong reasons yesterday.

Wilder claimed that he wanted to kill a man in the ring, as his alter ego when he fights is effectively unstoppable.

"I want a body on my record. I want one. I want one, I really do," he said.

"That's the Bronze Bomber, he wants one. I always tell people, when I'm in the ring, like I'm the Bronze Bomber. Everything about me changes."

His comments have been met by fury by almost all within the sport, and Whyte himself has condemned them.

The Briton has labelled him as "confused", and said that it is worrying when you have the power that the heavyweights possess that it is possible to kill someone.

"When you put a fighter like Lucas Browne like I did last week it is worrying," he started.

"I celebrated at first but when I saw he was down I was worried because people have kids and families to go home to.

"I don’t know how Deontay Wilder’s head works, he has not turned up here tonight because he heard I was coming.

"I don’t understand his mentality, he is a weird guy, he is extremely deluded and confused.

"He has told me I will have to wait two years for my shot at him but the WBC is a respectable belt and they will force the mandatory soon and make him fight me."

If Whyte gets his way, he has shown he has the power to seriously trouble Wilder's unbeaten record.

It's sure to be a spectacle if the WBC do order the fight to go ahead, though Joshua will be hoping he gets the first crack at the American, in what would be one of the biggest fights in the history of boxing.
