Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain's £35 million move from Arsenal to Liverpool last summer was questioned by many, but over time the 24-year-old has proved a shrewd signing.

Versatile, passionate and improving with every week, the Ox seems more at home at Anfield than he ever did at the Emirates Stadium.

A large part of that is the fact Jurgen Klopp actually plays him in the right position, whereas Arsene Wenger used him as a right-wing back - although he was very good there.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has predominantly been played in central midfield under Klopp and it seems he does indeed have a future there, despite previous concerns.

One person he's proved wrong is Thierry Henry, who said upon Oxlade-Chamberlain's move to Liverpool that he didn't know what he's good at.

And last month, Oxlade-Chamberlain finally responded by rightly saying his former Arsenal teammate's comments now look "stupid".

"When you have watched someone long enough you know what they can do," said the Englishman of Henry.

"If it was aimed more at the end product side of things and doing those things that lead to scoring a goal or setting up a goal then fair enough, I will take those comments on the chin.

"Saying you don't know what I do, when you have worked with me, I think is a bit stupid. If they are referencing more end product then that is fair enough, I hold my hands up."

Oxlade-Chamberlain is fast becoming a fan favourite at Liverpool and he once again showed why that's the case when he took part in BT Sport's #GoalsRecreated recently.

In the video below, the England international was tasked with recreating Steven Gerrard's classic Champions League goal against Real Madrid in 2009.

From Ryan Babel's cross, Gerrard lashed the ball past Iker Casillas with a perfectly timed half-volley using the inside of his right foot. Check out how Oxlade-Chamberlain got on.

Easy as that. Oxlade-Chamberlain messed up his first attempt - even though he still managed to score - but made no mistake with his second.

The fact he called it while running on to Sadio Mane's cross makes the finish even more impressive, not to mention the knee-slide celebration.
