Anthony Joshua took another step towards becoming the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world on Saturday night.

His victory over Joseph Parker meant he added the WBO title to his collection, meaning he now has four of the five world belts.

To complete the set and become the first undisputed heavyweight champion of the world since Lennox Lewis, Deontay Wilder is the only man that stands in his way.

After his victory over Parker, Joshua took little time in calling out the American, stating:  "Wilder, let's go baby! Let's go!"

And Wilder seems more than willing to get in the ring with the Watford born man, claiming on Instagram: "Anthony Joshua I accept 100%."

WILDER'S CO-MANAGER SPEAKS

The bout between the two has been in the pipeline for some time, but for whatever reason a deal has never been finalised.

Many have even lost hope that a bout between the two will ever occur.

However, Wilder's co-manager has provided a very exciting update about the possibility of the two meeting in the ring.

Speaking to Telegraph Sport, Shelly Finkel stated just how eager the American is for the fight.

"We are really glad that Anthony Joshua said for the first time 'I will fight Deontay next...' and we believe he is a man of his word. Deontay accepts the challenge," Finkel said.

"We want to make it public that Deontay wants the fight, and we are prepared to come over, or meet here and get the deal done."

Wilder's team have also recognised that Joshua deserves the majority of the purse, with the American willing to accept a 60/40 split. Not only that, but Finkel claims Wilder is not bothered where he fights - whether that be in Las Vegas or at Wembley.

"We think a 60/40 split is fair. Let's not have any roadblocks, let's make the fight. If they want it in the UK, fine. If they want the first one in Vegas, fine.

"Assuming it will be Wembley Stadium in the summer, we are ready, and if they are ready as they say they are, we want to get it done. We want the fight, they want the fight, the public wants the fight. There is nothing to stop it going ahead."

Finkel concluded by stating he wants a deal to be done as soon as possible.

"These are two undefeated heavyweight champions. It has been a long time since we've had this opportunity. We are prepared to meet as soon as possible, anywhere, anytime. We are ready. Let's make the fight."

Exciting times. A lot has been said between the two in the past, but for whatever reason a deal has never been concluded.

But judging by Finkel's words, it seems an official announcement for the fight could be made very soon.
