When you’re talking about the Money in the Bank briefcase and WrestleMania, the first thing WWE fans are going to think of is the heist of the century at WrestleMania 31 when Seth Rollins sprinted down the ramp and cashed-in his contract to become the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.

Obviously, that sense of excitement isn’t there right now as the only star who holds a briefcase is SmackDown LIVE’s Carmella.

MONEY IN THE BANK

As expected, signs have been pointing towards the SmackDown Women’s Championship match between Charlotte Flair and Asuka, a match many fans have been waiting to see ever since The Empress of Tomorrow officially signed with the company.

With the streak on the line, there’s probably no better way to get heat from the WWE Universe than to have her cash-in and capture the gold. Although, it’s also been claimed that it could be a failed cash-in attempt on the potential new champion.

We have been seeing several teases on the blue brand recently about a cash-in. However, the Wrestling Observer Newsletter is claiming that this is being made so obvious to throw fans off the scent.

Now, Bryan Alvarez was speaking on the latest edition of Wrestling Observer Live where he suggested that Carmella could cash-in on Monday Night RAW’s Nia Jax instead - when she’s drafted to the red brand in the upcoming Superstar Shake-Up.

CASH-IN

According to Ringside News, he said: “I think she’s going to be drafted and then cash in on Nia. That’s what I think is going to happen. I think the whole reason they’ve been teasing a cash in is to try to put it in your mind that Asuka is going to beat Charlotte and leave as champion which is what everybody is expecting. She’s undefeated, right?

“I think in order to convince you that maybe something you’re not expecting is gonna happen, they’re trying to convince you that she’s going to cash in at WrestleMania and take the title from Asuka.

“I’ll go as far as to say there’s no way Carmella is ending Asuka’s streak. I’m saying it. I’m saying it right now!”

Nia Jax battles Alexa Bliss for the RAW Women’s Championship this Sunday where the body shaming storyline is expected to come to a halt with Jax capturing the gold. Perhaps this is the best long-term planning WWE can come up with.

It allows Asuka to remain unbeaten, especially with rumours suggesting she could battle Ronda Rousey at WrestleMania 35. It could have fans sympathise with Nia if she loses relatively soon, while it adds plenty of heat on Carmella which potentially revives her career to become relevant again.
