WWE officials are looking for his replacement.

SmackDown Live might be getting a new general manager due to Daniel Bryan being medically cleared to return to in-ring action by WWE doctors.

Bryan is slated to team up with SmackDown Commissioner Shane McMahon to take on Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn in a Tag Team Match at the biggest event of the year for the sports entertainment company, WrestleMania 34.

There was speculation that WWE Legend Hulk Hogan could be his replacement as the sports entertainment has been in recent talks with him about a potential return. However the WWE may need to find someone else.

It’s well documented that WWE officials are currently having talks about a Hogan return, according to a report by PWInsider. Discussions for the return began several weeks back. WWE event came out and confirmed it.

It’s been well documented that Hogan's WWE return has depended on the company being reasonably sure that bringing him back won't cause a big backlash due to his racist comments debacle from 2016. It’s possible that WWE hires him in an Ambassador role.

Most notably he left the sports entertainment company to join World Championship Wrestling in the 1990’s, and he worked in TNA Wrestling for a few years.

His latest run with the company was a short one. On February 24, 2014, on Raw, Hogan made his first WWE in-ring appearance since December 2007 to hype the launch of the WWE Network.

Jeff Jarrett, who was backstage at this week’s SmackDown Live TV event, could fill the role as the new Smackdown GM going forward, according to a rumor that has been surfacing online (credit to Ringside News for the news). He is set to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame this weekend.

Jarrett has worked for various promotions in his professional wrestling career. He founded TNA Wrestling back in 2002 as well as Global Force Wrestling. He has worked for WCW and WWE.

In total, he has won 77 titles throughout his career and is an 11-time world champion. NWA World Heavyweight Championship six times, the WCW World Heavyweight Championship four times and the AAA Mega Championship on one occasion.

While in the WWE, he is a six-time Intercontinental Champion. Also, he is one of four wrestlers to hold both the Intercontinental and European titles at the same time.
