Anthony Davis could very be a future MVP winner in the NBA for the New Orleans Pelicans, and he demonstrated the skill worthy of the award last night during his team's game against the Memphis Grizzlies. The Pelicans easily defeated the Grizzlies 123-95 at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans on Wednesday night, returning back to winning ways after a four-game losing streak, and moving them one step closer towards locking up a playoff spot in the Western Conference.E'Twaun Moore was the best player on the night for New Orleans, as he finished with 30 points, a rebound, and four assists. However, Davis wasn't too far behind, as he had 28 points, 12 rebounds, and two assists, while also making 8-of-13 field goals, 11-of-13 free throws, and adding three blocks and two steals. One of Davis' scores on the night came off the back of a horrible alley-oop pass. Somehow, the center managed to arch his back in such a way to catch the poorly targeted pass and slam it home in the basket for the score.

This was one of his first good games in a while, as he struggled in the Pelicans' previous two against the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Oklahoma City Thunder after twisting his ankle in a loss to the Portland Trail Blazers on March 27.

Davis said after the game to ESPN: "I was trying to get back to how I was playing, get the team back. I know they feed off my energy, so I just try to come out with a lot of energy on both ends of the floor and try to lead us to a win. It was fun, but we've got to do the same thing next time we play."

During the two games which Davis struggled due to his ankle injury, he averaged 20.5 points and 9.5 rebounds while making 39 percent of his shots, but on the season, he has averaged 28.1 points and 11.1 rebounds while making 53.5 percent of his shots.

The Pelicans play next when they visit Phoenix to play against the Suns on Friday night.
