As the summer transfer window fast approaches, it seems no one knows what the future holds for Emre Can at Liverpool.Previous reports stated he was Juventus bound, while more recently it's been stated the German is demanding £200,000-per-week wages to stay at Anfield. Can responded to those claims last month by intimating on Instagram that they are false."Interesting stories about me in the press," he wrote. "I'm no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours."I've just returned from international duty with the German team and working on coming back from injury. Looking forward to getting back on the pitch asap."Can, who is currently out injured but due to return this week, remains in talks with Liverpool over a new deal though nothing has yet been agreed. This is according to Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp, who said last week that negotiations are open and underway."It was £250,000," joked the German when asked how much Can was demanding per week. "What is the situation at the moment? Open. Nothing is decided."We are in talks with him and it is all good so far apart from he hasn't yet signed a contract for us. That is all, there is no problem with that."Liverpool fans want Can to stay but judging by Wednesday night's 3-0 win over Manchester City in the Champions League, they wouldn't necessarily miss him.As a result, Kopites have somewhat changed their stance on the contract situation by saying that Can would be crazy to leave Liverpool for Juventus because they're on to something special.

And it has to be said, they're absolutely right. Things are gradually falling into place for Klopp's side and they'll be even stronger when Naby Keita arrives in the summer.

Competition for places will be high, of course, but that has to be expected at any club challenging for silverware.

Guaranteed success at Juventus could ultimately sway Can. The Old Lady win Serie A almost every season, whereas there are zero guarantees in the Premier League.

An agreement in principle is reportedly in place so much will likely depend on how far Liverpool progress in the Champions League.
