Few days go by without the latest report and rumour on Emre Can's Liverpool future. With the German midfielder's contract at Anfield set for expiration in the summer, Liverpool fans have long accepted that Can could be leaving. The fact Juventus are considered the frontrunners for his signature will prove all-too familiar for Kopites, also. Can hasn't helped to stop the rumours himself by continuing to remain coy on the matter and even when he addressed the topic on Instagram, he gave away nothing. He told the Liverpool Echo earlier this month: "Of course I have to think about my footballing future."I haven't signed for any other club, I'm just focused on this season. We want to finish in second place in the Premier League, we're in the Champions League quarter-finals and we want to progress.

New report on Khedia & Can

"That's all I'm focused on now. My agent has blocked all negotiations, I'm thinking only of football."

The latest report surrounding Can's future emanated from SportsIllustrated and Fox Sports senior writer Grant Wahl who claimed that a Juventus source had spoken to Sami Khedira.

Can's German teammate then allegedly confirmed that the Liverpool man is Turin-bound.

Khedira posts sensational tweet

Wahl penned: "My source recently spoke to Juve's Sami Khedira, Can's Germany teammate. And Khedira said yes, it's going to happen."

That wasn't the end of the story, though, with Khedira himself reading the report and frankly, he just couldn't let it slide.

The 31-year-old took to Twitter and dropped a belting post in order to refute the claims he'd given the game away. Armed with comical hashtags and a brilliant GIF, Khedira posted:

Khedira has knocked it out the park.

So, at least for now, Liverpool fans can rejoice that Can updates haven't found their way into the Juventus dressing room just yet.

The tweet won't give Kopites anything in the way of reassurance, though.

One Juventus player shooting down one report will do little to break the rumour mill and it seems only time will tell whether Can will be a Liverpool or Juventus player next year.

Just like the man himself said on Instagram: “I'm no longer going to comment on any false stories or rumours." Liverpool fans will have to wait until the 'truth' eventually rears its head.
