Arsenal have one foot in the Europa League semi-finals after recording a convincing 4-1 victory over CSKA Moscow at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday evening.A brace apiece from Aaron Ramsey and Alexandre Lacazette during the first half left their Russian opponents shell-shocked before the break.Aleksandr Golovin had cancelled out Ramsey’s opener with a delicious free-kick but that was the only high point of an otherwise miserable night for the visitors. For Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, he will now feel that winning this competition is a real possibility, even though several dangerous teams - most notably Atletico Madrid - will push them right to the end."We know it is not over,” the Frenchman said of the tie after the match. “We have to go there with the right focus and try to win the game."One away goal in Moscow next week, however, should be enough to send Arsenal through to the final four.Arsenal fans were full of praise for their players after Thursday’s victory over CSKA. Well, most of them anyway.

What Arsenal fans are saying about Jack Wilshere

For those who didn’t watch the game, it might come as a slight surprise to hear that Arsenal supporters on social media were very critical of one player in particular: Jack Wilshere. The 26-year-old flattered to deceive in the No. 10 role behind Alexandre Lacazette and struggled to make any meaningful contribution during his 74 minutes on the pitch.

Arsenal fans were extremely disappointed by his poor showing and many made the point that his form has dropped off a cliff in recent weeks.

It’s possible that the uncertainty surrounding his future is affecting his performances.

According to a recent report in the Guardian, Arsenal fear that Wilshere will opt to leave the Emirates Stadium on a free transfer this summer after being handed a £80,000-a-week take-it-or-leave-it offer.

Wilshere's spell with Arsenal could be coming to an end

Wilshere is a die-hard Arsenal fan and the club’s supporters have stuck by him through thick and thin over the past 10 years, but his working relationship with the Gunners could be about to come to an end.

And following his performance against CSKA, it wouldn’t be a shock if Wilshere finds himself on the subs’ bench for the Premier League clash against Southampton on Sunday.

Many Arsenal fans would prefer if he stayed put at the Emirates beyond this summer.

But that could all change if his performances fail to improve between now and the end of the season.
