The heavyweight division is making for very interesting viewing at this current time.Dillian Whyte has been on the rise since being defeated by Anthony Joshua in 2015 and is now among the top heavyweight fighters in the world. He could perhaps target a shot at a world belt in his next fight, but the Brixton based boxer has instead switched his focus on a bout with Alexander Povetkin.Whyte was quick to call Povetkin out after he defeated David Price via a fifth round knockout last Saturday.“I have just seen him in there. He is a good strong fighter but I know what I need to do to beat him," Whyte stated.“He has got a good jab and I will beat Povetkin all day long. I’ll fight him next. I just told him and he said he’ll fight me next.“Eddie said he’ll make it so lets make it. Lets do it, I’m ready.”

POVETKIN RULES OUT THE FIGHT

But despite many boxing fans willing to see the two battle it out in the ring, the 38-year-old has insisted he only has eyes on Anthony Joshua.

"I'm the mandatory challenger for Joshua," Povetkin explained.

"I look forward to the moment when I can compete against the best in the world. Anthony has four belts. I want this fight and I don't even think about fighting someone else."

WHYTE RESPONDS ON TWITTER

Povetkin's words have not one down very well with the 29-year-old, who outlined his frustrations on Twitter.

In a series of tweets, Whyte called Povetkin a coward numerous times, whilst also claiming he was confused why the Russian had gone back on his word.

WHYTE SUGGESTS WHY HE WANTS POVETKIN

It was revealed by Eddie Hearn earlier on in the week that the IBF had ordered Whyte to fight Kubrat Pulev.

Although that would be a good spectacle, Whyte's disappointment with Povetkin suggests he is not overly keen on fighting the Bulgarian.

And a tweet he sent in the early hours of Friday morning may explain why.

Pulev has not fought for almost a year, outlining concerns about how prepared he is to enter the ring.

He famously pulled out of a fight against Anthony Joshua at the back end of last year and it seems Whyte has concerns he will do the same if the two were scheduled to fight.
