Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi has made an interesting admission about breaking club rules after joining Borussia Dortmund on loan.
Signed from Marseille for £32m in 2016, the Belgian hitman made only four Premier League starts in his 18-month spell under Antonio Conte.
Batshuayi has already scored eight goals at Dortmund and there's rumours that the Bundesliga club want to make his loan deal permanent.
"I'd be very pleased if Michy were to stay," Marco Reus told reporters.
"He's shown how important he can be for us."
In west London, Alvaro Morata and Olivier Giroud have managed just one Premier League goal between them since Batshauyi's departure.
The Belgian's future at Chelsea appears to depend on who will be taking charge next season - because it's indelibly clear that Conte doesn't trust him.
Batshuayi admits he broke a Chelsea club rule
Premier League footballers sign exorbitant contracts which force them to follow a strict set of guidelines, which often includes being forbidden from playing competitive sport outside of work.
Asked how he dealt with a lack of playing time at Chelsea, Batshuayi told Onze magazine: “At the club you’re not allowed to do it, but I played futsal.
"If I didn’t play futsal, I would have been dead.
"I did not tell my teammates, I never told anyone [at Chelsea].
"I kill myself at futsal for 1 hour or 2 hours. It's mandatory for me. It allows me to feel better, to free myself, to feel the sensation of the ball, the feeling of finding the path of the nets and especially the notion of pleasure with my friends."
Maybe he was being naive but this isn't what you would expect to hear from a footballer who wants to return to his parent club.
It's understood that Dortmund failed to include an 'option to buy' clause in Batshuayi's loan deal.
The 24-year-old striker is expected to start when Peter Stoger's Dortmund host Stuttgart in the Bundesliga on Sunday afternoon.
