Steve Kerr made his feelings known to his Golden State Warriors players after their disappointing loss to the Indiana Pacers on Thursday night, and while not all of his players agreed with his criticism, they had a good response on Saturday.

It still ended in another defeat, as the Warriors lost 126-120 to the New Orleans Pelicans at the Oracle Arena in Oakland yesterday, but Kerr has said to ESPN that he was much happier with the way his team performed than how they did earlier in the week.

The Golden State head coach said: "We're going to be all right. Tonight, we [were] playing a team that desperately needs to win. You can tell the teams around the league that have to win, they're getting after it. They're playing for their season. And our season begins next week, and we know that. So I'm not disappointed with the effort.

"I always want to win. We always want to win. But I liked the fight, especially in the second half, and I think we can take something out of this game."

Kevin Durant, who was one of the Warriors stars that disagreed with Kerr's criticism of the team on Thursday, responded well anyways, as he finished the game on Saturday as the top scorer on the court with 41 points, adding 10 rebounds, five assists, and was 16-of-26 in shooting from the field.

19 of his 41 came in the third quarter, but he had a costly turnover in the final minute that helped the Pelicans win.

However, his teammate's performances on the court weren't good enough to help Golden State return to winning ways, and the team now has a 6-9 record since March 9. Kerr reflected on the team's unusual record over the past month, saying he's not worried as the team is dealing with a lot of injuries at the moment.

The Warriors head coach said: "I'm not too worried about the record at this point, especially with all the injuries. These last couple weeks has been disjointed, lineup-wise, and from one night to the next, it has been different. I don't worry about that. We know the position we're in. We're in a good spot.

"We've just got to get a little better and start that fight from the beginning of the game and stay connected, and we're in good shape."
