Wasps' Danny Cipriani suffered a brutal head injury during their Aviva Premiership clash against Sale Sharks over the weekend.
Cipriani’s side were narrowly defeated 28-27 as Marland Yarde secured a 91st minute try to take all the spoils at the AJ Bell Stadium.
Sale now rise to sixth in the league after the win, and will now turn their attention to next weekend’s vital clash against fellow promotion hopefuls Newcastle Falcons.
Despite the dramatic late winner, England fly-half Cipriani clashed with Sales scrum-half Faf de Klerk in search for the winning try.
The incident occurred before the try line with the head clash forcing the Wasps star to be removed from the game.
Prior to this injury, De Klerk collided with Dan Robson in the very same move, with both men being forced from the field.
Cipriani and Robson were both treated off the field with several minutes being added onto the game due to the injury, allowing Yarde to snatch victory for the home side.
After the incident, Cipriani addressed fans on his official Twitter account thanking them for their concern and ensuring everyone he is fine despite much fear after the incident.

He wrote: I’m feeling fine. Thank you for the messages. I remember most of the game. Well done to Sale. Appreciate the concern 👊🏽.”
Wasps scrum-half Dan Robson also addressed concerned fans on Twitter as he thanked them for their support and saw a lighter side to the situation, even posting a GIF.
He wrote: “Few sore teeth this morning, thankfully had my gum shield in. Will be back fighting to make up for last nights result. Thanks for all the messages and travelling support 🐝”
Due to the defeat, Wasps now sit in fourth place of the Aviva Premiership, nine points behind leaders Exeter, who have a game in hand over all the top six sides.
