Manchester City defender Danilo has taken a dig at Manchester United's tactics following their dramatic derby defeat at the Etihad. The hosts - needing a win to wrap up the title - went 2-0 up through Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan but somehow ended up losing 3-2.Paul Pogba scored two goals within three minutes before Chris Smalling popped up with a volley to make up for his mistake for City's opener.Man City were beaten 3-0 by Liverpool at Anfield just three days earlier - and face Jurgen Klopp's side in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final on Tuesday night.“Of course, we wanted to win today,” Guardiola said after Saturday's derby defeat.“I am not going to deny that, but we know exactly which team we play. They are second in a good league.“We lost it so for the fans it’s hard, but maybe we’re going to get more credit if we are able to win the Premier League.”

Danilo fires shots at United's tactics

The 26-year-old Brazilian was making his 10th Premier League start of the season - and struggled at left-back against City's Manchester rivals.

"There's a feeling of sadness and disappointment because we played really well," Danilo told the club's official website. "But we must turn the page as soon as possible because we have another big challenge on Tuesday.

"I could tell you many reasons why we didn't win. At the end of the day, they scored three goals and we scored two, and that's what counts. We win together and we lose together.

"If you analyse the game, we had the ball possession, we had the control, they just used the long balls and scored three goals.

Danilo continued: "We played the same way we have all season, we keep the same level of performance, but today it didn't work."

"We have to focus on what we did wrong and we must improve, but we mustn't forget what we did all season."

Jose Mourinho's side may not have been playing incredibly intricate football but to describe their tactics as "just long ball" seems some way off the mark.

Danilo received a lot of stick on Twitter from Man United supporters.

Man City will become champions if they beat Tottenham next weekend.
