At half-time of the Manchester derby, everyone at Manchester City was getting ready for a title celebration.Goals from Vincent Kompany and Ilkay Gundogan put Pep Guardiola’s side on the verge of becoming the earliest side to have been crowned Premier League champions.Nobody expected a Jose Mourinho side to allow their biggest rivals to win the league in front of their faces with such ease. But it seems Mourinho worked wonders at half-time.In fact, defender Chris Smalling revealed exactly what his manager said during those 15 minutes before an extraordinary comeback."We came in at half-time feeling sorry for ourselves and we knew that we needed to play with pride in the second half," Smalling said."The first half was terrible — dropped off, didn't play our game and could have been out of sight.

MOURINHO'S TEAM TALK WORKED

"The manager didn't have to say much because we knew we'd let ourselves down. He said that he didn't want us to be the clowns who stand there watching them win their trophy."

It obviously worked wonders.

Paul Pogba’s brace was followed up by a goal from Smalling himself to see United leave the Etihad with all three points.

Mourinho certainly deserves credit for that.

But something happened just after the half-time whistle that shows just how angry the United players were.

A video has emerged of United’s Ander Herrera leaving the pitch to walk to the dressing room and it shows the Spaniard spitting at the Man City crest on the floor.

Was it deliberate? It’s impossible to say.

But there are plenty of fans out there that think he did it on purpose.

If so, it’s pretty shocking behaviour.

Despite United fans enjoying Herrera's actions, it’s not something we want to see.

After the game, Herrera admitted that the 3-2 victory was one of the most “emotional” games he’s ever played in.

"This is one of the best, most emotional games so far in my career in Manchester United,’ Herrera said.

"Everyone thinks about us, we just think about United. We want to finish second, we want to build Manchester United stronger for the next season.

"We don’t think about the others. This is Manchester United, nobody should underestimate us."
