The Bahrain Grand Prix has never failed to deliver since becoming a night race in 2014 and Sunday's spectacle continued that theme.A lively start saw Sergio Perez spin out and Max Verstappen leap four places into 10th to challenge Lewis Hamilton, who started ninth.Verstappen took a risk to pass the Englishman on the inside but paid the price with a puncture to his rear left tyre following a collision. He eventually made it back to the pit lane to get a replacement but it soon became clear more damage had been done, meaning he had to retire.Teammate Daniel Ricciardo was also forced out of the race and had to be collected by a motorbike, marking a terrible day for team Red Bull. However, the biggest incident of the race undoubtedly involved Ferrari's Kimi Raikkonen, who ran over one of his mechanic's legs during a pit stop.In the graphic video below, Raikkonen is given the green light to go but his rear left hasn't been properly changed, so he runs over the mechanic. Watch at your own risk.

RAIKKONEN RUNS OVER MECHANIC

There were immediate fears the mechanic had broken his leg but hopefully that's not the case. Ferrari soon tweeted that he's been taken to hospital.

Raikkonen's race ended as a result of the incident but Formula One fans are furious at what the 38-year-old did after leaving his car.

On his way back to the pit stop, Raikkonen didn't even bother to check if the mechanic was OK and instead walked in the opposite direction, only stopping momentarily to look.

F1 FANS SLAM RAIKKONEN

Poor from Raikkonen. Ferrari's mechanic may well have broken his leg yet the Finn showed absolutely no concern for his welfare.
