Feeney on Rovers' radar

Cardiff striker Warren Feeney is a transfer target for Bristol Rovers.

The Pirates are keen to bolster their strikeforce after missing out on Paul Heffernan following his successful loan spell at the Memorial Stadium last season. The Doncaster striker opted to remain in Yorkshire and join League One newcomers Sheffield Wednesday.

Rovers boss Paul Trollope has revealed that Feeney is among "five or six" potential targets.

"Missing out on Paul was obviously a disappointment, although Sheffield Wednesday are one of the big clubs in our division and signing for them means he does not have to relocate from his home in Yorkshire, so you can see why it was attractive to him," Trollope told the Evening Post.

"But we are moving on to other targets and we have five or six others we are looking at and Warren is among them."
