Praise does not come from a much higher source than Floyd Mayweather, especially when it comes to boxing.

Sheffield fighter Kell Brook was in attendance for the fight between James DeGale and Caleb Traux in Las Vegas on Saturday Night, and he had a little chat with 'Money' himself at ringside.

Brook, who lost his IBF welterweight belt to American Errol Spence in May last year, responded like a top fighter does by defeating Belarus fighter Sergei Rabchenko in a second-round knockout.

It was Brook's debut fight at super-welterweight after previously fighting at welterweight and middleweight.

It was this type of spirit and courageous decision which no doubt impressed Mayweather when he gave Brook a warm embrace when they met at the DeGale and Traux fight and said: "You’re a hell of a warrior,” as the video further down this article shows.

Mayweather also seemed to gesture to the 31-year-old that he had shed too much weight for that fight, which he lost at Brammall Lane via an 11th-round knockout.

In a sport where boxers are sometimes accused of taking the easy fight, Brook faced one of the best pound-for-pound fighters in Gennady Golovkin and Spence in back-to-back fights.

While the record books may show two defeats, and the loss of his perfect record, they are the type of setbacks which Brook could easily view as a catalyst for bigger and better things.

With his confidence growing, Brook is looking to the future and has got his eyes on Amir Khan as he believes it is the fight the UK public want to see.

However, Brook is certainly not shying away from a rematch with Spence and believes the experience from the initial fight will serve him well in the future.

As fans and boxing observers know, while negotiations can drag on between two parties, they normally get their act together with so much at stake.

Brook has the spirit to take on the very best, all he needs are the victories to back up his undoubted talent.
