AS Roma wrote yet another piece of history into one of the most famous cities in the world last night. The Italian giants became only the third team in Champions League history to overturn a three-goal deficit from the first leg of a tie, beating Barcelona 3-0 to go through on away goals, with the scores level at 4-4.Edin Dzeko, a Daniele De Rossi penalty and Kostas Manolas' dramatic late winner saw Roma reach the last four of the competition, joining Liverpool after their 5-1 aggregate victory against Manchester City.To say that they weren't given a hope or a prayer before the match would be an understatement, against a side that boasts two of the best players in the world in Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez. But they were powerless to prevent the Romans progressing, which is all the more surprising considering they're just about clinging on to a Champions League qualification spot for next year in Serie A.Though having defeated one of the most powerful sides in the world, they will certainly fancy their chances of going all the way and winning it now.If they were to do so, it would be their first ever triumph in the competition, which really explains the wild scenes and jubilation on the pitch and in the crowd when Manolas struck, and when the full-time whistle went. However, those celebrations weren't just confined to the stadium, as the Roma president demonstrated.James Palotta, who has been at the club for seven years, kicked off the partying in the city in style, delighting the Italian fans in the process. The American dived into the world-famous Trevi Fountain after the game, and was filmed doing so to loud cheers from the gathering crowd.WATCH:

It is quite refreshing to see an owner of a club take such an involvement in their achievements, especially with the fans, considering the way that some teams are run nowadays.

Their joy is more than understandable though, considering that they failed to even make the group stages last year.

Roma's tie with Barcelona was also their first venture into the quarter-finals for a decade, when they lost 3-0 on aggregate to eventual winners Manchester United.

Pallotta helped to make the night even more memorable for them, and his hilarious stunt made waves across Twitter.

Should they go on and win the Champions League, he must have a serious celebration planned to top that.
