Goals mean a lot to strikers. It is their bread and butter, the thing they are judged by and the thing that earns them the big bucks. However, Tottenham's Harry Kane has got a bit of stick in the last few days for his desperate attempt to have a goal awarded to him.Christian Eriksen's free-kick v Stoke appeared to sail into the net without touching anybody, but Kane was insistent he got a touch off his shoulder.Tottenham actually filed an official appeal for the incident to be looked at, with Eriksen stating he was happy for the goal-hungry striker to be awarded the goal. And on Wednesday afternoon, the Premier League officially declared that it was Kane's 25th goal of the league season.

A victory for Spurs, but one which has led to a lot of people questioning what Kane's real prerogative is.

Is he more desperate for his third Golden Boot than putting his team first? He could well be.

The goal puts him just four behind Mohamed Salah on 29 goals and shortly after the announcement was made, the Egyptian took to Twitter to post a short message.

It sent the social media platform pretty wild.

SALAH'S TWEET

I think Salah has spoken for a lot of football fans out there.

Virgil van Dijk, Gini Wijnaldum, Simon Mignolet and Trent Alexander-Arnold also joined in on the fun, replying to Salah's post with a few emojis that suggest the Liverpool players are just as bemused as we are about it all.

Despite the fact that the appeal was successful, Salah is still the overwhelming favourite to finish as top scorer, with the African Player of the Year continuing his ridiculous goal scoring run against Manchester City last night.
