Trash talking is a big part of football, so it's not surprising when players beef with one another. In fact, the Jacksonville Jaguars have almost made talk part of their defensive ideology and it's fair to say that it worked for them last season. The Jags went 10-6 and reached the AFC Championship game in the Playoffs. For a team that finished the 2016 season with a record of 3-13, Jacksonville turned it around in 2017 and some of their success came from getting under their opponent's skin. But it's not just the Jaguars that have been loud off the field. For almost a year now, Oakland Raiders defensive end Bruce Irvin has been beefing with former teammate Marquette King. King, who last week joined the Denver Broncos, played with Irvin in Oakland for two seasons but judging by the tweets that the pair have exchanged in the past, they may not have been getting on.Although, it does seem that it's rather one-sided beef, with Irvin doing most of the talking. It all started back in 2017 after the Pro Bowl, when King took a photo with Aqib Talib, who has twice snatched at Michael Crabtree’s chain while playing against the Raiders.

That didn't go down well with Irvin, who claimed that Talib was "the enemy" and suggested the former Raiders punter shouldn't be taking photos with him.

He left a comment responding to the tweet, then referenced it again months later.

After Irvin brought it up again last May, King responded with a meme, stoking the fire. That led to the outside linebacker sending a threat to his then-teammate.

And that appeared to be the end of it, with King failing to respond. But now he's moved to the Broncos, Irvin has taken another shot at the punter.

Yesterday, he wrote on Twitter: "Asked to play punt return today against Denver" and "Got approval. Got fine money too."

He then followed that with another tweet that read: "Yo twitter followers can't save yo ass when u in between them white lines" - clearly aiming his words at his former teammate.

It's not clear if King has actually seen any of those tweets, but he did post another meme, about two hours after Irvin's tweets - which was probably in response to them.

Clearly, the pair still have a lot of beef and they will face each other twice next season.

When the schedule comes out, both Broncos and Raiders fans will be marking the dates in their calendars - and so will King and Irvin.
