It's been an up and down season for Markelle Fultz, but at least now with the Philadelphia 76ers in the playoffs for the first time since the 2011-12 season, he'll have more of a stage to show off what he can do.

The rookie gave Sixers fans a taste of what is to come in the future with him on the court during the team's win against the Milwaukee Bucks last night, as he finished off the regular season and got himself into fantastic form for the important playoff games ahead by breaking an NBA record.

With 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in the Sixers' 130-95 win against the Bucks at the Wells Fargo Center in Philadelphia on Wednesday night, Fultz entered his name in the NBA record books, becoming the youngest player ever to achieve a triple-double.

At the age of 19 years and 317 days, the rookie is also the first teenager to ever post a triple-double. He bested fellow rookie in Los Angeles Lakers star Lonzo Ball (20 years, 15 days) for the record, who claimed the record himself earlier this season from Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James (20 years, 20 days).

Fultz achieved the record with just over a minute to go in the fourth quarter, grabbing his 10th assist and 10th rebound within a matter of seconds of one another. When he earned his historic triple-double, his teammates swarmed him for a celebration.

76ers head coach Brett Brown spoke to ESPN after the game and explained why he thought Fultz' teammates swarming him after he achieved his triple-double was such a special sight to see.

He said: "To see his teammates react to Markelle Fultz was special. I think it's a snapshot into who these guys are."

The rookie has had a bumpy season which included an injury that kept him out of the lineup for 68 games. He's averaged 7.1 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 3.8 assists in 14 games for Philadelphia this season.

Fultz and the Sixers are now in fine form and ready for their first playoff game in six years, as they enter the postseason with a 16-game winning streak and as the number third seed in the Eastern Conference. They'll face off against the number sixth seed Miami Heat in the first round of the postseason.
