For the first time in six seasons, the Los Angeles Clippers have missed out on making a playoff appearance, and for the first time in over a decade, their head coach Doc Rivers will not be coaching in the postseason either.

It's a strange situation for Rivers to be in, as, throughout his 19-year coaching career in the NBA, he's only missed out on the playoffs four times. This year will be the first time since the 2006-07 season that he has not coached in the postseason.

The Clippers head coach spoke to ESPN prior to his team's game on Wednesday night against the Los Angeles Lakers, and he revealed he was unsure on his coaching future after missing out on the playoffs for the first time in over a decade as a coach.

Rivers said: "I love what I do, but that doesn't mean that you keep doing it every year, do you know what I mean? I can't even answer the question. I love where we're at as a franchise. I will say that. I would honestly say that a year ago, I don't know if I would have had that same feeling.

"I don't even know what to do tomorrow."

The Clippers playoff dreams ended when they were eliminated from contention with a loss to the Denver Nuggets last Saturday. Rivers will have a chance to amend this next season, as he still has one season remaining on a five-year contract he signed before the 2014-15 season.

Whether or not he will decide to stay in charge of the Los Angeles-based team next season remains to be seen, but they certainly haven't ended the season the way they would have liked to, and that appears to be playing into his decision.

The Clippers lot their last game of the season to the Lakers 115-100 on Wednesday at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, as they weren't able to contain Josh Hart or Gary Payton II, who both finished with 30 points and 25 points respectively.

The Clippers finished the season on a four-game losing streak and will look ahead towards the NBA Draft now, with or without Rivers at the helm.
